Turning a Small Oregon Community Into an Interactive Destination

Estacada demonstrates how a destination can connect websites, trails, scavenger hunts, seasonal promotions and event ticketing into a broader digital visitor ecosystem.

Challenge

Competing for attention without a big-city budget.

Smaller destinations need to compete for visitor attention without the budgets available to major tourism organizations.

The opportunity was to turn Estacada's existing assets — public art, history, events, businesses and local stories — into experiences people could actively explore.

Solution

Several experiences, one connected destination.

Our work has included tourism website design along with multiple interactive Passportage experiences and event ticketing initiatives.

Inside the project

What we built.

Mural Trail

A Passportage-powered experience encouraging visitors to discover Estacada's public murals.

Heritage Tour

An interactive way to connect visitors with local history and community stories.

Finding Bigfoot

A playful Passportage scavenger hunt turning exploration into a game.

The Candy Cane Trail

A seasonal Christmas passport encouraging community exploration and local business participation.

Event ticketing

Digital ticketing support for community events including the Estacada Timber Festival and Estacada Uncorked.

Outcome

A small community now runs a year-round calendar of digital experiences — art, history, play and seasonal promotion — that keeps visitors exploring and keeps businesses involved.

What could we connect for you?

You don't need to replace everything at once. Start with the part of the customer journey that needs work, then connect more when it makes sense.
